Chloe Maxine Rodgers

Carbondale - Maxine Rodgers, 87, passed away at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Heartland Regional Hospital, Marion. She was born October 28, 1924 in Cobden to Amos Guy and Mabel Lillian (Rowan) Parmley. Maxine wed Everett Garlin Rodgers Sr. on October 11, 1958 in Carbondale. Maxine is survived by her son; Everett G Rodgers Jr. and his wife Becky of Pittsburg. Other survivors include two grandsons, Scott Rodgers and his wife Jennifer of Carlinville, and Matt Rodgers and fianc�� Lena Morsch of Carbondale; two great granddaughters, Mikayla and Baily Rodgers of Carlinville; two nieces, Judy (Nance) Patton and her husband Roy of Clarmont, FL, and Carol (Nance) Gray and her husband Jim of Arizona; one nephew Ronnie Bonds and his wife Bonnie of Centralia; great nieces, Debbie Bach and her husband Kevin of Ava and Julie Carman of Makanda. Maxine was preceded in death by her spouse Everett G Rodgers Sr, brother, Victor Parmley and two sisters, Virginia (Parmley) Nance and Gertrude (Parmley) Gibson. She was very active in sports and crafts. She played softball for 13 years and played basketball in high school. She was in several plays in grade school and high school. Services will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale, with Rev. Danny L Boyd officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Southern Illinois Hospice would be appreciated.
