CARTERVILLE - Cheryl Ann Holder, 65, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Cheryl was born on June 18, 1958 in Carbondale to Clinton and Lucille (Lirely) Biggs. Cheryl married Larry Holder on February 14, 1981 in Carbondale. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2018.
Cheryl worked at Southern Illinois University as the Honors Secretary until she retired in 2018. Cheryl had obtained her Associate's degree and was most proud of her Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies.
She enjoyed telling a good story or joke, playing the drums, joining the Beatles and watching various history type documentaries.
Cheryl is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Dell) Berry and Randi Jo Holder (Mathew) and two sons, Jason Holder and Joshua Holder.
She had 10 grandchildren, Mickallie Berry (Murphysboro), DJ Berry (Murphysboro), Bailey Berry (Carbondale), Jaidyn Berry (Murphysboro), Braylon, Deon, Jordyn and Keegan Berry (Carbondale) and Allen Jay Legendre and Gracie Mae Legendre (Belle Rive); great-grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Berry Roseman (Murphysboro) and Liddell "3" (Murphysboro); brother, Gene Peterman (Cambria), brother-in-law, Michael Holder (Cambria); sisters-in-law, Brenda Harrison (Murphysboro) and Shirley McNeill (Murphysboro); nieces, Robyn (Nathan) Biggs (Boston), Sherry (Chris) Haralambopoulos (Naperville), Jamie (Jen) Biggs (Carbondale), Jennifer (John) Crespi (Herrin), and Dawn (Phillip) Green (Newburgh); nephews, Greg Peterman (Murphysboro), Gary (Nikki) Peterman (Desoto) & Mike Peterman (Cambria), Terry Aldridge (Albuquerque), and Donnie (Amy) Stahlke (Asheville). Other nephews, nieces and 2 very dear cousins including Barb & Karen Biggs; and Aunt Mary Raso. Longtime friends Bonnie Kloss, Gail Peterman and Tina Reynolds. Fur babies, Zoey, Scooter and Bubby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 brothers- George Lee Peterman, Mike Biggs and James Clinton Biggs and a sister, Nancee (Biggs) Stahlke. A niece, Amy Shingleton and Fur babies, Sassy and Smokey.

Cheryl's wishes were to be cremated with no service or visitation but a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
