Brockton David Hill

Carbondale - Brockton David Hill, 35, passed away 9:59 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale surrounded by his loving family. Brockton was born July 14, 1978 in Murphysboro, IL to Gary Dean and Judith Earlene (Cook) Hill. Brockton is survived by his parents Gary Dean and Freida Lee Hill of Murphysboro and Judith Earlene and Gordon Wesley Zeigler of Murphysboro; one brother Nicholas Dean Hill of Carterville; three sisters Michelle Renee and Jason Bennett of Murphysboro, Monicah Delane and Bryce Jacquot of DeSoto, and Hayli Leilani Hill of Port Angeles, WA. Other survivors include a grandmother Helen Lucille Hill of Cape Girardeau, MO, eight nieces and nephews, 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. Brockton was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carbondale and attended Victory Christian Dream Center in Carbondale. He was a part of H-Group and an alumni of Brehm Preparatory School in Carbondale. Brockton was very passionate about all his family and getting together with them was his favorite thing to do. He was also a very generous and giving person. He worked full time at Wal-Mart; he liked construction and was an avid fan of SIUC men's and women's basketball and could recall the names of players, past and present. He had fond memories of a trip with his brother-in-law Bryce to Louisville and his brother Nic was his hero. He also enjoyed keeping up with movies and actors. He had a great wealth of knowledge about everything he cared about. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale, with Reverends Alan Rhein and John Annable officiating. Entombment will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum in Murphysboro. Visitation will be on Friday, March 28, 2014, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to Brehm Preparatory School are the preferred form of remembrance and will be received at the funeral home.
