Goreville - Family and friends celebrate the life of Brittany Stringer, devoted wife, mother, and Christian. On Monday, November 4, 2013, Brittany passed on, in the arms of her loving husband, Mike Stringer. She was born December 3, 1981 in Carbondale, to Robert Randolph and Barbara James, and upon her arrival that day, a full rainbow appeared in the western sky. Brittany grew up in Carbondale. By the age of nine, she had discovered the stables Le Chevel de Boskydell where she found her life's passion and her extended family of Mark and Jill O'Donoghue and their children. She rode and worked with horses daily and went on to compete well in many English horse shows locally and regionally. Professionally she was midway through the process of becoming a certified equine mental health specialist for children with autism and other learning disabilities. She was especially intrigued by the healing power of music in her chosen field and believed that music changes lives and makes the world a better place. She and her husband Mike intended to open Cadence Equine Promise, LLC in the area. She is survived by her treasured husband, Michael Lee Stringer and her beloved daughter, Rebecca Annemarie Hovatter, her grieving parents Barbara James and Robert Randolph, also Riley Barker, Amy Randolph, and Pam Slagle. She leaves her siblings, Anna Margrum, Pilar Randolph, Logan Barker, Elizabeth Aquino, Eli Lay, Sarah Settles, Shawn Margrum, Veronica Stringer, Kelly Uzarewicz, Flavio Aquino, as well as her nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her niece Nisha Margrum and her best friend Sarah Grenfell. Outpourings on Facebook testify to the many family members and friends who love and miss her. Mrs. Stringer dedicated her life to the Lord and was baptized by Pastor Jason Forby at Southern Range Cowboy Church, which she attended faithfully, in Goreville. Her faith inspired many. Now, take the next chapter by the reins, our love, and ride on. Services will be held at Southern Range Cowboy Church in Goreville, on Friday, November 8, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jason Forby officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance, and may be made to the Rebecca Hovatter Educational Fund, or to the Specialized Equine Service and Therapeutic Riding (SES) located at Giant City Stables in Carbondale. Envelopes will be provided by Meredith Funeral Home.
