Brian J. Lucas, age 67 of Jackson, passed away on June 17, 2024 at his home.
Brian was born on May 25, 1957 in Illinois to the late George Lucas, Jr. and Nadine Flatt Lucas. He attended Carbondale Community High School going on to attend and graduate from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and, later, became a Resident Supervisor in the Dormitory there at the University and a member of Freed-Hardeman's Developmental Council.
After moving to Jackson Tennessee, he was a manager at Western Sizzlin and Catfish Galley. He was a Deejay for 92 FM, worked at DeVilbiss and Porter Cable and was lovingly known as "The Door Man" at South Street Comedy Club before his retirement.
Brian loved sports...Especially the Saint Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed Comedy and Movies. He was passionate about music and built an extensive record collection. And, he very much enjoyed his friends spending much time with them in his younger adult years gathering together for outings, cookouts, camping, ball games and more.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lucas.
He is survived by his beloved fiancé, Tabitha Thomas; his beloved cousin, Katie Joy Heise, their beloved dogs, Patches and Rocco; and a multitude of friends and coworkers that were more like family than merely friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Brian Lucas will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons in Jackson, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to come and share in this time of reflection of a life well lived. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, Illinois. He will laid to rest with his parents and brother.
