Brenda Kay Yucas

MAKANDA - Brenda Kay Yucas, 76, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. 

Brenda was born on June 29, 1947 in Tyrone, PA to William and Thelma (Port) Snyder.  She married Joseph Yucas on May 31, 1975 in the Penn State Chapel at State College, PA.   He preceded her in death on January 3, 2024.

Brenda worked at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale as an Administrative Assistant for various departments over the years.  She was avid billiards player with her husband around Southern Illinois.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Yucas and daughter-in-law, Kayla Shults of Makanda; grandchildren, Kathryn and Keegan Shults; and great-grandchild, Arlo Jezeck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister, Donna Price; and brother, William Joseph Snyder.

No services will be held.

Memorials may be made in Brenda’s name to Alzheimer’s Association.
