Blake Alexander Morrison passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 31 on September 20, 2023. He was raised by a loving family who cherished him deeply. Through the years, he brought great joy to his adoring wife, family, friends and his two dogs, Luna and Lily.
Blake was an unwavering Saluki sports fan and wholeheartedly supported the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was an advocate for local businesses, consistently demonstrating his dedication to the community he held dear. As the eldest child, Blake took on a role in life that pushed him to pursue his most treasured dreams. He held a sincere passion for politics, the hospitality industry, and sports. He also found joy in photography, cooking, and spending quality time playing various games with his friends and family. Blake was known for his loyalty, intellect, strong determination, and vibrant spirit. He moved through life with remarkable strength and resilience against many of life’s adversities.
Blake graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a degree in Business Management, specializing in Entrepreneurship. Blake's professional journey was marked by a diverse range of roles within the restaurant and hospitality industry. He served as a movie theater associate, excelled as a server and bartender, and brought smiles to many as a guest services professional at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Most notably, he recently realized his dream of entrepreneurship as the owner/operator of Carbondale's iconic Quatro's Deep Pan Pizza.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Morrison; parents Bryce (Carla) Morrison and Serina (Justin Butler) Cinnamon; mother-in-law, Shirley Castle; siblings Jocelyn Morrison, B. Ailwyn Morrison, and Thomas Morrison; sister-in-law, Julia Castle; grandparents, Margaret Cinnamon, Maurice and Catherine Mayer; aunts and uncles, Steven Cinnamon, Shaun (Monica) Cinnamon, Cheryl (Rick) Benoit, Judy (Leland) Wolters, Kathryn Castle, Anne Castle, and Bill Castle; and many cousins including Amber (Jerry) Borrero, Annie and Alex Knop, and Mitchell Cinnamon as well as many dear friends. He is also remembered by family members Christine (Tim) Sweeney, Heather Musser and Rebecca Musser.
Blake was predeceased by his grandparents Bruce and Norita Morrison and William Cinnamon, his uncle Todd Morrison, and his father-in-law, Don Castle.
A memorial service to celebrate Blake's life will take place on October 6th, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carbondale, Illinois.
Memorial donations in memory of Blake can be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter.
