Betty Lou Reames

Carbondale - Betty Lou Jones Kommer Reames, 81, of Metropolis, formerly of Sebring, Florida and Carbondale, died Thursday, April 30, 2015. Born July 14, 1933 in Kentucky, Mrs. Reames grew up in Metropolis, where she met and married Warren D. Kommer. They had two children, Linda and Warren Bradley Kommer. The family relocated to McCullom Lake. She later married Jerry Reames and resided in Batavia and Las Vegas. Survivors include one brother, Don Jones of Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Dorothy Scholz of West Brooklyn and Patricia Jensen of Compton; three grandchildren, Kimberly, David and Danny Harbecke; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Harbecke; and many nieces and nephews including Stan and Tonya Bremer of DeSoto. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mallery and Allie Jones; her husband, Jerry Reames; her children; two brothers, William and James Jones; and one sister, Barbara Bremer Huff. As per Mrs. Reames' wishes, she was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
