Bernella "Nellie" Bright-Todd

LAS VEGAS – Bernella “Nellie” Irene Bright-Todd, 77, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Carbondale.

Nellie was born on September 15, 1945 to Arthur and Bernice (Bright) Wingerter in Ava. She married Gregory D. Todd on September 19, 1986 in Brooklyn, NY.

Nellie is survived by her husband Gregory, sons Paul (Laura) Todd and Luke Todd, grandchildren, Arthur Todd, Nalah Todd, and Valerie White, sister Arthella “Arti” McReynolds, brother Russell Wingerter, nephew Curtis(Gina) Baird, niece Jacqueline Baird, great-nephews Corbin Baird, Riley Baird, and Aeian Baird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Wingerter, and nephew Kevin Baird.

Nellie was always the freest of spirits. Whether it was living in Paris, France, buying a brownstone in Brooklyn New York or a hunting lodge in the Adirondacks, no adventure was too big or too small to not tempt Nellie. She loved the fact that she was a distant relative of Daniel Boone. Her hero growing up was Belle Star, frontier cowgirl. She worked her way up from receptionist to top sales person, (not to mention only female sales person!) at a computer service computer active among Wall Street banks. Quick of wit and fleet of foot, she was always a welcome member to any group. I could go on but sometimes the less said the better.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Meredith Funeral Home with Rev. John Annable officiating. Visitation will on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Desert Springs United Methodist Church in Las Vegas, NV, or the American Diabetes Association.
