Grand Tower – Raymon “Jim” Wilson, 77, of Grand Tower passed away on April 11, 2016 at 8:10 p.m. in the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Jim was born on Wednesday, September 14, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Louis and Helen (Koch) Wilson.
Survivors include one sister, Jewel “Judy” and Fred Eggley of Cape Girardeau; two daughters Amy Sue Wilson of Oklahoma and Cassandra Nicole Koch; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim was a proud uncle of two nephews and four loving nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister and two brothers.
Jim grew up in the Grand Tower First Baptist Church. He retired from CIPS as a boiler and equipment operator. He was a lifelong resident of Grand Tower and instrumental in establishing the Grand Tower museum where he served on the board. Jim was a proud Mason and Shriner where he enjoyed being the chief fish fryer for the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. One of his favorite activities was playing Santa Claus for many years in many different settings and people’s homes.
Funeral services will be held in First Baptist Church, Grand Tower on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Bob Henson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Masonic Rites at 11:30 a.m. A time of visitation will continue from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Walker Hill Cemetery.
