Grand Tower – David R. Parker, son of the late James Willard Parker and Lillian Pearl (Cox) Parker was born on May 1, 1939 in Dover, Tennessee. He entered into rest on Monday, October 3, 2016 in his home in Licking, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
Mr. David Parker was united in marriage to Miss Janet Rendleman on June 29, 1959 and to this union, seven children were born. David enjoyed dancing, fishing, bowling, and stock-car races. In his younger days he enjoyed coaching all the “Little Kids” baseball teams. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his wife, Janet Parker; Children, Lesa Wells and husband Fred of O’Fallon, MO, Darrek Parker and wife Tammy of Sesser, Darin Parker and wife Elaine of Moberly, MO, Laura Gant and husband Terry of Licking, MO, Drake Parker and wife Emily of Licking, MO, and Launa Corbitt and husband Steven of South Roxanna; Sisters, Geri Huggins of Florida, Faye Williams and husband Virl of Belleville, Esther Greene and husband Don of Kentucky; Wilma Butler of Texas; 26 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Keith Parker; Daughter-in-Law, Paula Parker; Grandson, John Steven Corbitt; Great-grandson, Ezequial Mar; and brother-in-law, John Butler.
Funeral services for David R. Parker will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Meredith Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Tower. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held prior to services from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in Walker Hill Cemetery.
